2007- Berlin, Germany

The second G8 Youth Summit was held from April 26 to May 2 in Berlin, Germany and was hosted by the Hertie School of Governance, the German Council of Foreign Relations, Verein Model G8 Germany e.V., and PolitikFabrik. Over three days of intensive negotiations, important issues of the G8-agenda were discussed and incorporated in the final communiqué. These issues included the US-missile defense initiative, climate change and the conflict in Darfur.

The official meetings and negotiations started on Saturday, 28 April and lasted until Monday, 30 April. The negotiating rounds took place at the Hertie School of Governance in central Berlin. On Saturday and Sunday night, panel discussions were held with experts on two major G8-topics: One about the G8 and it s stance towards the "emerging economies" and the other about the G8 and its responsibility in environmental policy.

The 16-page final communiqué was presented to Dr. Adolph Von Wagner, the President of the DGAP and Former German Ambassador to Argentina. To read the final communiqué, please click here.
